Arizona Online Instruction Program
The Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) Program established in A.R.S. §15-808 allows approved school districts and charter schools to develop online instructional systems to expand learning opportunities for students throughout our state. The State Board of Education approves district AOI programs. Charter schools should contact the State Board for Charter Schools at: https://asbcs.az.gov/
The window for school districts to apply for an AOI for the 2025-2026 school year is now closed. The deadline to submit an application was by 5pm on November 1, 2024. The window to submit new applications for the 2026-27 school year will open July of 2025. Please refer to the Guidance Documents below before submitting an application. Please submit applications to [email protected]. Charter Schools should contact the State Board for Charter Schools. Districts that are already approved as an AOI do not need to apply again.

UPDATE: HB 2862 was signed by the Governor on April 28, 2021. The bill provides flexibility to schools in meeting statutory instructional time requirements, including a pathway for schools to provide remote instruction without an approved AOI. The Arizona Department of Education has issued guidance, a template and a FAQ for schools interested in using this flexibility.
